One person, a small number of brands, for a long time.
Clay & Sparrow is a studio of one. When you hire us, you get me — the person who looks at your store, designs it, builds it, and is still there in eighteen months when you want to add a gifting flow.
That’s the whole model. No account manager translating you to a developer. No junior inheriting your theme. One relationship, kept small on purpose so it can stay good.
I work with baby & kids brands because they’re made by people who care about small things — the stitch, the fabric, the thing a parent keeps. That deserves a store shaped with the same attention.
The name
Clay — my name, and the raw material every brand starts as. Shaped by hand, with patience, into something finished.
Sparrow — small, humble, well cared-for. The little things we build for small brands.
Together: we shape small things with care.
How I work
Plainly
No jargon, no deck theatre. You'll always know what's happening and what it costs.
Slowly enough to be good
A handful of builds a year. That's the only way the details survive.
On the real thing
Design happens in the browser, on your products and photos — not in a static mockup.
For the long run
I'd rather have five brands I know well than fifty I've forgotten.
